A hands-on experience of learning and fun.
Join us for an exciting opportunity to discover Tasmanian eucalyptus – through a field day in the Wielangta forests of Tasmania’s East Coast. Led by botanists Fred and Mercedes Duncan, and Spring Bay Mill horticulturist and educator Marcus Ragus.
Learn how to identify a wide range of species in their natural environments. Understand eucalypt ecology, and how eucalypt forests interact with the landscape and other vegetation types. Hear fascinating accounts of past and present research on different species, and about their use and conservation.
Come along for this unique and stimulating forest experience! Be a eucalypt scientist for a day and discover how to distinguish Tasmanian species – and their critical role in the State’s history, ecology and conservation of our biodiversity.
This is a rare free opportunity, with previous programs usually costing more than $100 per person. Places are limited to 25, so book early. Please only make bookings if you are assured of coming. Thank you.
The Eucalypt Field Day is a collaboration between Spring Bay Mill and Eucalypt Australia.
