This is my campfire story. It’s about growing up. I was subtle. I was swept up by people telling me what to do. Now I am stable and can harness my thoughts. I am an outside boy. Not an outsider.
— Charlie Smith
On 1st and 2nd March, Second Echo Ensemble and Performing Lines TAS is coming to trayapana/Triabunna with a beautiful new work, Outside Boy.
OUTSIDE BOY is a collaboration by many artists, including award-winning Creative Producer Kelly Drummond Cawthon, Director Charlie Smith and composer Dean Stevenson. It is an immersive theatrical experience, a heart-charged story of finding beauty in small moments and believing in possibility. The destination of this curious and magical journey is a reflection on our humanity – and a step forward for Charlie into a brave new world.
Our first stop is trayapana/Triabunna. In 2021 we spent a week at Spring Bay Mill imagining and creating. We are thrilled to be coming back to launch the start of the tour.
This project is made possible through the generous support of Playing Australia, Arts Tasmania, and RANT Regional Arts.
Two shows at the Mill on 1st and 2nd March.
Tuesday 1st March – 6pm
Wednesday 2nd March – 6pm
