TO CHALLENGE
THE ORDINARY
THE MISSION
At Spring Bay Mill, we think the world is boring. We've been conditioned to believe things must be a certain way—a linear way. It’s controlled and predictable. So, we created a space where you take back control of your experiences. Our brand agency described Spring Bay Mill as a place to 'ignite a revolution of life beyond the ordinary and be a catalyst for new perspectives.' While we found that a bit overwritten, what we do know is that we agree that we offer something new—different from the standard business retreat, wedding, or social gathering—and that you need to experience it.
Step beyond the boring, controlled, and predictable; instead, choose the extraordinary. Because that’s what we offer. Discover it for yourself—if you don’t, you’ll never truly know.
OUR STORY
Our story begins at Freestone Point, where ancient Aboriginal sites still resonate with the legacy of gatherings and cultural exchange. In the 1970s, the land became the Triabunna woodchip mill, the world’s largest, tearing through ancient forests. That pissed us off. So, when the whole mill came up for sale in 2011, we bought it to turn something awful into something beautiful.
Those saved forests?
They help make Tasmania carbon-negative.
THE SPRING BAY MILL DIFFERENCE
“Our time at Spring Bay Mill wasn't just a conference—it was a transformative experience that left us rejuvenated and inspired. We're already planning our return.”
Gisele Gambi, Business & Life Coach, Podcaster
"The history, purpose, and beautiful surroundings of the Mill were the perfect catalyst for thought-provoking discussions and meaningful connections across the team. We were well cared for throughout our stay, and the service even outshone the outstanding views. We couldn't have asked for a better experience."
